Burnham Park was named after the American architect and urban planner, Daniel Hudson Burnham who was the one who designed the prominent roads and parks of Baguio City.
Burnham park is the counterpart of Luneta Park in Manila. Families, couples and vacationers can be seen loitering around the area. Some are having picnics, some are doing several activities such as biking, riding a boat, etc.
This a good place to spend time with your family. The park also has some vendors selling corn (cobs or in cups), cotton candy, strawberry taho, etc. Make sure you throw your trash at trash bins though to preserve the cleanliness of the park.
Inside the park, there are huge sunflowers but be careful because there are a lot of bees and the sunflowers seemed to be not taken care of because most of them are wilted and dying. Such a shame.
The best activity here is the boat paddling, you can either use a paddle or you can opt for the one that moves using your feet (sort of like a bicycle). If you’ve been to Enchanted Kingdom’s Swan Lake, that exactly what you’ll see here. The boats are also shaped differently and some designs are for children, some are normal looking boats but we opted for the Swan design similar to the one in Enchanted Kingdom. Paddling is a stress reliever and it does make you relax. Depending on the number of people lined up, the time can be between 10-20 minutes, sometimes longer if there are only a few people in the park.
